Canon

Canon Inc. (read ké-nèn, IPA: ækænən, in Japanese: キ ヤ ノ ン 株式会社), headquartered in Tokyo, is a Japanese company specializing in image and optical products, including cameras, copiers and computer printers.

The company was founded in 1933 under the name 精 機 光学 研究所 (Seiki-kougaku-kenkyuujo or Precision Optical Equipment Laboratory) by Yoshida Goro and sister-in-law Uchida Saburo and funded by Takeshi Mitarai, a close friend of Uchida. The initial goal was to conduct research in the development of quality cameras. In June 1934 they released their first camera, Kwanon, named after the Goddess of compassion for Buddha. The following year the company changed its name to Canon because it was seen as more modern than the previous name.


Canon's main rivals include Nikon, Konica Minolta, Leica, Pentax, Olympus, Sony, Epson, Kodak, Hewlett-Packard and Xerox.
Canon is a manufacturer of imaging products that include printers, scanners, binoculars, digital cameras, film and digital SLR cameras, lenses and video recorders. The Business Solutions section offers print and document solutions for small and medium enterprises, large companies and governments. These include multi-function printers, black and white and color office printers, large-size printers, scanners, black and white and color production printers, and software to support these products.

Lesser is known as a Canon product product, including medical, optical and broadcast products, including ophthalmic and x-ray equipment, broadcast lenses, semiconductors, and others.

Canon has been producing and distributing digital cameras since 1984, starting with RC-701. The RC series is followed by the PowerShot and IXUS series from digital cameras. Canon also developed the EOS (Electro-Optical System) series of single-lens reflex (DSLR) digital cameras that include high-end professional models. Canon recently introduced Thermal Transition Copying as part of the manufacturing process for all of its cameras. This process allows the camera's polymer casing to change the camera temperature very little through an exothermic reaction triggered by an electronic sensor, to assist in preventing condensation inside the camera; Common problems experienced when using SLR cameras under certain conditions
Canon Pixma is a color printing machine from the Canon company that is devoted to speed. The new series of Canon printing machines are almost on average now is the Pixma series. It first came out in 2002 and developed rapidly in 2003. Canon Pixma has not used the BC series ink type anymore, but has used new generation Canon ink types such as Cli, Bci, and so on. There are three types of Canon Pixma series naming, i.e. iP and 4 digit numbers followed for A4 size paper, iP followed by 2 digit numbers are reserved for mobile printers / maximum paper sizes of R4 and iX which are specifically for A3 size paper.
